Approximately 92 percent of Mirant’s generating assets are close to large population centers – where population growth and demand for energy are highest. Mirant in the Caribbean Mirant's investments, three integrated utilities and two long-term power purchase agreements, are generating capacity of over 2,000 MW. These assets serve more than 600,000 retail, commercial, and industrial customers. Mirant's net ownership interest totals more than 1,000 MW. Mirant in the Philippines Mirant owns more than 2,200 MW of generation in the Philippines. Mirant’s generating capacity in the Philippines is sold primarily through long-term contracts that are linked to the U.S. dollar.
